All other areas of Madison have private water and sewer systems. Electricity is provided by Central Maine Power Company.

Madison Electric Works is a publicly owned utility that operates as a quasi-municipal department serving electric customers in the downtown area, Madison Business Gateway and Backyard Farms. Incorporated in 1888 MEW's coverage area also includes parts of Anson, Starks and Norridgewock.
Office Hours are Monday through Friday 7AM to 4PM.
