Madison's Town Manager

The Town of Madison is a "Town Meeting/Manager" form of government.  Although Town Meeting is the true governing body, the manager is the chief executive officer for the town.  The Town Manager is appointed by the Board of Selectmen and works under the Board's direction.

Tim Curtis has been Town Manager since July 1, 2015 after serving as an interim for 5 months.  A native of Madison, Tim has a degree in communications and has a background in community and economic development.  Feel free to stop by the Town Office to say hello.

The Budget Process

Each year local residents vote to approve the municipal budget at the Town Meeting in June.  Prior to this vote the budget is prepared by the Town Manager and reviewed line by line by members of the Select Board and the Advisory Board.  These review meetings are usually held in late March/early April and are open to the public.  The municipal budget is separate from the local school budget which is prepared and reviewed along a similar time line.

Local charities and non profits can apply for Town funding by submitting a Social Services Appropriation Form.
