Vital Records

Certified copies of Birth, Marriage, and Death records are available at our office. The cost is $15.00 for the first copy and $6.00 for each additional one of the same certificate purchased at the same time. You may come into our office or order copies by mail.

Dog Licensing & Animal Complaints

Dog Licenses expire December 31st of every year. A late fee of $25 goes into effect February 1st of every year. To license your dog you will need to bring in proof of current rabies certificate and neuturing or spayed certificate if applicable.  Fees for licensing a dog is $11.00 unaltered dog and $6.00 for an altered dog.

Town Meetings

The Annual Town Meeting was held Monday, June 13, 2016 7:00 p.m. at the Madison Area Junior High School.  The attested warrant with minutes can be found attached to this page.  It is also located in the back of your Town Report.   2016 Town Reports are available at the Town Office.

Town Meeting Warrant 2016-2017

The Town of Madison is a Town Meeting/Town Manager form of government.  We operate under Title 30-A of the Maine Revised Statues Annotated. 

Town Meeting is the true governing body of the Town.  Our annual Town Meeting is held in the month of June on the Monday before the second Tuesday of the month. 


 

Electronic Sign Usage Policy & Form

Non-profit community and civic groups may request announcements be placed on the electronic sign located on Main Street (across from Skowhegan Savings Bank).  Anyone wishing to have a message displayed on the electronic message sign must read the Electronic Sign Usage Policy for permitted use.  If you accept the conditions of this policy, then send a request at least two weeks prior to your event  by completing the Electronic Message Sign Request Form or by completing the on-line request form shown below.

Need to register to vote?  Registrar hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2014.  Or click here to register by mail.

Looking to run for locally elected office?  Papers must be taken out and the required number of signatures returned up to 6 weeks prior to local elections.  Local elections are held the second Tuesday in June.  Contact the Town Clerk for details.
